Join me tonight as the sun sinks into the sea and Join me tonight as the sun sinks into the sea and we slip beneath the surface together, drifting between wakefulness and sleep, expanding and contracting with unified breath, cradled by the gentle practice of yoga nidra. We’ll observe our thoughts that, like clouds, move across the blue sky of our mind, dissipating into the distance, revealing the stillness beyond. Book your bed through @seasideyogasanctuary, 7-8pm in the @carmelplaza.
No-bake desserts are some of my favorites to whip No-bake desserts are some of my favorites to whip together when you’re in the mood for something subtly elegant but don’t have much time on your hands. Simply blend together your favorite nuts (in this case hazelnuts) with some coconut oil, maple syrup or sticky dates, and spices to form a delicious crust that can be pressed into a mold. Smooth your favorite topping over the tart shell (in this case, my classic ganache recipe found on alyssadougherty.com) for delectation post dinner. Sprinkle on additional chopped nuts for crunch or add a floral finish or fresh mint leaves for a cooling contrast. Claim your slice before they all disappear!

Whatever your personal journey might be, let’s find relief together, with breath unveiled, with the external world muted, even if just for an hour. Join me tonight at @seasideyogasanctuary from 7-8pm for meditation and guided visualization in the @carmelplaza ✨
Get a healthy dose of Vitamin C from olallieberrie Get a healthy dose of Vitamin C from olallieberries! This California fruit is a cross between a loganberry and a youngberry, with a nutritional profile that mirrors a blackberry. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that assists in collagen synthesis (think: healthy ligaments + bones), regulates neurotransmitter biosynthesis (think: possible mood boost), and helps absorb non-heme iron (iron derived from plant foods as opposed to ‘heme’ iron found in animal sources). Enjoy these berries whole, or consider blending them into a salad dressing to add delicious, fruity flavor to your dark leafy greens.
Plum picking in the early morning heat, soaking in Plum picking in the early morning heat, soaking in the sun-kissed colors and subtle scent of warm summer fruit plucked from heavy limbs. These sweet Santa Rosas double as a nutrient-dense dessert or sugary snack that remain low on the glycemic index and offer more anti-inflammatory polyphenols than peaches or nectarines.
Happy 4th! While the studio will be closed this ev Happy 4th! While the studio will be closed this evening, my yoga nidra class resumes next Monday 11th from 7-8pm @seasideyogasanctuary. We’ll be slowing down and taking some deep breaths together to appreciate all this season has to offer us through gratitude-oriented guided visualizations: from the potent fragrance of a rose in bloom, to the sweet ambrosia that is fresh summer fruit. Until then, don’t forget to schedule some time for self care today, even if only for a minute.
